In this article you will find out how to keep your HVAC System clean.
Spring is finally here, which means it is time to start fresh after the harsh winter weather. While it is always nice to deep clean the house or scrub the office desk clean, what about other places we spend our time? A survey from the AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety has found that American drivers spend more than 17,600 minutes behind the wheel in one year. That's over 12 days inside of your vehicle! Of course getting an oil change and a wash are obvious, but what about a nice deep clean for the engine?
Here is the first of four auto part cleaning tips that can help give your vehicle a fresh start for the new season, and improve your vehicle's performance, economy, and longevity.
Keep your HVAC system clean
Replacing your air filter is a part of common vehicle upkeep, but what about your vehicle's air cabin filter? The air cabin filter, often forgotten as it is typically located behind the glove box, prevents pollutants such as pollen, dirt, dust, smog and mold from entering the vehicle's HVAC and air conditioning system.;
Symptoms of a failing air cabin filter are:
- Reduced air conditioning, heating and air circulation performance
- The HVAC system pushing out more noise than air
- Persistent, unusual odor coming from the interior vents
The cabin air filter is important to not only a vehicle’s HVAC and AC system health but for the driver’s health as well. You’ll be grateful those spring time allergens are staying outside of your vehicle and not coming in the cabin!

When to replace the A/C compressor
If your vehicle’s air conditioning is not performing well due to a compressor that leaks refrigerant, doesn’t properly move refrigerant or is audibly noisy, or stopped working altogether, consider replacing the entire compressor with Delphi OE quality AC compressor.
The Delphi Difference
Our AC compressors are lightweight and highly efficient by consuming up to 15% less power which provides fuel savings up to .5 MPG. They are also leak tested to one pound of refrigerant in 40 years to ensure cool air throughout the life of the part.
