Join us as we uncover the critical elements and innovative strategies that drive effective logistics management in the aftermarket industry with insights from Anthony.
Anthony, tell us how does logistics impact the overall customer experience in the aftermarket?
Logistics is a huge part of any businesses offering to their customer from getting product, to final mile delivery. We live in an age of consumer driven behaviours that in effect, pass on into our business customers expectations. We have to adapt to this rapidly changing environment to have a market leading, competitive advantage.
... and what are the biggest challenges that you face in managing logistics?
At present, the Red Sea Situation is causing issues in the global supply chain. It is causing delays in shipping & container availability problems. We are working closely with our freight providers to prioritise shipments to bring stability to product availability.
How do you manage inventory and stock levels?
We have strength in our inventory & planning cycles. We will always hold strong volumes of our fast moving product & profile our customers to supply the goods they need. It is a key part of our offering as a business.
Tell us a little bit more about what strategies do you use to optimize transportation and shipping?
We work with carefully selected freight partners & 3PL’s to strengthen our offering. We ensure we work in partnership with them to get the best outcomes, be it live tracking, effective order management or final mile delivery.
Last question, can you share any success stories or best practices in optimizing logistics at Delphi?
Before Covid hit, we worked hard to boost our inventory in order to get ahead of the disruption. The wider logistics community will always bring news/information of how to best navigate global issues. This is always a topic of discussion at the forums I attend.
