23 March, 2020-- We are continuously monitoring the latest developments around COVID-19 and implementing actions in accordance with government agency guidelines to protect the health and safety of our employees and associates. This includes “work from home” policies for many offices and sites where possible, as well as increased cleaning, distancing, use of protective equipment, health checks and monitoring. These processes were tested and executed with great results in our China locations during the extended Chinese New Year break and are still in place in line with government directives.
In relation to OEM announcements to either halt or slow production, we are working closely with our customers and suppliers in all regions. We at Delphi Technologies will continue with the critical engineering launch activities and R&D work around the globe.
With regard to the aftermarket, industry leading indicators are pointing to a slowdown in global mobility which is likely to have significant impact on production and distribution of components and on vehicle maintenance and repair activity. Delphi Technologies Aftermarket is working to satisfy customer demand from all its locations around the world, where government regulations allow our activity to continue. As the situation changes we may have to adjust our schedules accordingly, which includes temporarily winding down operations and production. Of course, vehicle repair is essential to keep supply chains and emergency services working and a number of government have designated availability of automotive repair and maintenance facilities as essential in the response to the COVID-19 outbreak: we will continue to work closely with our customers to ensure that they can meet this requirement.
While this is a very fluid situation, we are staying informed and aligned with government agency guidance at the local, national and international levels.
