Delphi Technologies showcases new business opportunities for aftermarket at Equip Auto 2019
With its latest industry leading solutions, independent garages will be able to extend the range of services they can offer, opening up new and profitable business opportunities.
The company will also provide free technical training on its stand giving technicians the OE-level expertise needed to service today’s increasingly complex vehicle technologies.
CERGY, France, August 1, 2019 – At Equip Auto (October 15-19), Delphi Technologies will exhibit a range of innovative products and services, designed to help both distributors and workshops offer fast, high-quality, and profitable repairs on the very latest vehicle technologies. These include the Hartridge Excalibur GDi Master test machine, its DS-Flash™ pass-thru kit, also shortlisted for an Innovation award, and DS-nano™, an affordable on-board diagnostics (OBD) tool. Visitors to the Delphi Technologies’ stand (hall 1, stand M029) will also benefit from free technical training, giving technicians new skills to improve both workshop efficiencies and first-time fix rate.
Jean-Francois Bouveyron, vice president, Delphi Technologies Aftermarket – EMEA says: “The increasing hybridization and electrification of the vehicle’s powertrain represents a significant opportunity for the aftermarket, but only for those with the right parts, tools and know-how. At this year’s Equip Auto, we’ll be demonstrating how we’re helping garages service these complex, electronically controlled vehicles with a range of solutions that will save both time and money, deliver a best-practice repair and generate additional revenue.”
GDi service program
Delphi Technologies’ new GDi (gasoline direct injection) service program is just one example of how the company is using its in-depth understanding of emerging vehicle technologies to help its aftermarket customers. With OE pumps and injectors, diagnostic tools, training, and now test and cleaning equipment, distributors and garages will be able to take advantage of one of the fastest growing and most profitable areas of vehicle repair – the GDi market is forecast to grow by over 30 percent in Europe over the next five to 10 years compared with 2018. Its recently launched Hartridge Excalibur GDi test bench will be on display, showing potential customers how it can help speed the flow of vehicles through their workshops and improve profitability.
Latest diagnostic capability
The increasing electronic content will also require new diagnostic and test competencies. Visitors will be able to demo its DS-Flash™ pass-thru device, providing dealer-level diagnostics, without the need for expensive dealer only tools. The kit, which is among the nominees for The International Grands Prix for Automotive Innovation - EQUIP AUTO 2019 – in the ‘Repairs, Maintenance, Garage Equipment’ category, allows garages to ‘pass-thru’ to vehicle manufacturer’s websites to download software updates, reprogram ECUs and access OE technical data and service schedule information.
And the company’s DS-nano™ offers quick and highly accurate diagnostics of the key vehicle systems, across a wide range of makes and models. The new VCI only solution uses the same powerful, feature packed diagnostic interface as its proven DS150E and DS450E tools, just with a lighter functionality. This makes it an ideal tool for garages taking advantage of the rapidly growing diagnostic opportunity with minimal investment.
Technical training
Since staying up to date with the latest vehicle technologies is just as important, the company will host a series of technical seminars. Taught by experienced Delphi Technologies’ professionals at its on-stand training hub, topics will include advanced diagnostics using its DS450E tool (with new tablet), pass-thru diagnostics with DS-Flash™, ADAS (advanced driver assistance system), GDi testing and diesel test and repair on the Hartridge Sabre Master and Expert. These and more will give technicians highly valuable, transferable skills, that can be put to good use when they are in their own workshop.
Enhancements to core aftermarket portfolio
Delphi Technologies will also demonstrate how its core aftermarket portfolio is providing technicians with high-quality service parts. New additions include a full-service solution for steering, providing both the main component and all the fitting accessories in the box, for a best-practice, OE quality repair, first-to-market brake pads for popular applications such as the new Audi Q8, Ford Focus and Fiesta ST, new OE multi-charge ignition coils offering fewer emissions, up to 20 percent better fuel economy and improved engine performance and significant new-to-range sensors. In the last 12 months alone, it has launched more than 400 part numbers including a new line of exhaust gas temperature and diesel exhaust pressure sensors. The company is also leveraging its expertise as a leading OE provider of fuel, and the number one player in North America, to announce the upcoming launch of a new range of fuel pumps in Europe. Planned for late 2019, the program will cover popular vehicles such as Volkswagen Golf, Audi A3, Renault Megane, Nissan Juke, Opel Astra.
Refreshed brand and premium packaging
The show will also provide a platform for the company to present its vibrant new aftermarket packaging. Featuring the Delphi Technologies logo and colorways, and enhanced anti-counterfeit measures, the packaging comes in both a wallpaper print and a retail design for products such as brakes, steering and ignition. A new blue and white design, using higher quality materials, will offer better protection during transit and storage, whilst optimizing space on the distributor’s shelf.
