Resource Highlights
Here we’re exploring the options available to you if you need to replace a diesel injector.
The obvious choice might seem to be a new unit, but there are two other options – remanufactured (or ‘reman’) and repaired – that are much more environmentally friendly.
Laura, our Delphi expert, walks you through these two options step by step and explains the differences between them. She helps you understand:
- How they’re refurbished
- What components are replaced
- How they’re tested and calibrated to ‘as new’ standards
- The warranty differences between them
Why are reman and repaired parts more environmentally friendly?
Remanufactured and repaired parts have a much lower carbon footprint than new parts. That’s because only the components that must be renewed have been produced and incorporated.
How can I be sure they’ll deliver the same performance and lifespan?
Reman and repaired parts go through the same rigorous testing and calibration processes as new OE units. That way you know they’ll deliver the same as what you’d expect from a new unit.
Do reman and repaired parts come with a warranty?
With reman parts, you’ll get exactly the same warranty as a new part. With a repaired part, the repairer will decide on the warranty period.
