Be guided through the process of using a smart battery tester to check that batteries are working as they should. Join our Delphi Technologies expert as he takes you through it.
Why should you test batteries as common practice?
Between 40-50% of vehicle breakdowns are caused by a battery fault, so it’s a good idea for you to test them on a regular basis.
How can I tell the health of a battery?
By using a smart battery tester, you’ll be able to measure a battery’s State of Health (SoC) and State of Charge (SoC).
What does State of Health (SoH) mean?
State of Health is the calculated level of battery degradation and remaining capacity of the battery.
What does State of Charge (SoC) mean?
State of Charge is the amount of voltage available in a battery at a specific point in time.
How do I test SoH and SoC using a smart battery tester?
First, you’ll need to set up the tester with information about the battery that you are testing. For example, it may need to know the battery type, whether it’s an EFB or AGM, and the Cold Cranking Amps (CCA). Once you’ve entered the information, start the test and simply wait for the tester to show you the results.
